A local resident and KAWHRA member has been trying for the past few years to get the right of way reinstated through the steps by the Blue Lagoon pub, as the pub management often closed the gates

There was no designated right of way there in historical documents, but this is true of most rights of way and many of our older local residents say that they have used these steps since childhood.

The council have suggested to the brewery that they should build another set of steps, but they are not willing to do this.

The local councillor, Garry Peltzer Dunn, asked the council to come to a decision soon on whether to enforce this right of way.

The decision day was Tuesday 15th November 4pm at Hove Town Hall when it was CONFIRMED as a DESIGNATED RIGHT OF WAY read the minutes>>

The pub was previously the Adur Pub, before that the Adur Hotel since 1879 with steps for public use since 1898.

There is a distinct possibility that the steps will be closed to the public. There are already gates which are locked when the pub is closed.
