THE NEW 21st CENTURY SLUMS
BRIGHTON SOCIETY—OBJECTIONS, LEAFLET TO COMMUNITY 24 March 2014

• including 486 student flats facing the Milner Flats. imagine the noise from their open windows
• and 142 private and social flats. This density is too high
• it is twice the density of the Hanover area
• also a 14 storey block of start-up offices which could be housed in the empty Amex building, releasing space for sunny courtyards
• and 2 tall buildings towering over the listed buildings in Grand Parade

PLEASE OBJECT TO:
• Too many student flats creating too much noise for Milner flats residents
• 2 tall buildings on a site not designated for tall buildings and overpowering listed buildings in Grand Parade
• Narrow sunless courtyards
• Gloomy black buildings
• Overdevelopment of the site
• Densities in excess of 600 bedspaces per hectare are undesirable in terms of social and physical wellbeing
• The Council will decide whether to recommend planning permission for this scheme on its own site. The Council will be the beneficiary and judge and jury on its own case
