Five events across the city, helping you to enjoy being active in your neighbourhood

Would you like to try out a new activity in your local area? TAKEPART Local is a fantastic opportunity for clubs and groups to showcase what they get up to, on your doorstep. Five events across the city invite you to discover what is on offer in your community.

Come along to your local community venue below to get involved. All events are free and are organised through the Sports Development Team’s Active for Life Project.

In Portslade

Portslade Sports Centre, 9am – 1pm Saturday 28 June – free!

Portslade Sports Centre opens their doors a free morning of activities for children and young people aged 5-16. Activities include athletics, badminton, table tennis, squash, basketball, exercise classes, snooker, trampolining, gymnastics, cricket and more!

On The Level

The Level11am – 3pm Saturday 28 June – free!

Join the Active for Life Team and Adventure Unlimited for fun and games on the Level. Experience the fantastic new facilities at the park and join in family games of rounders, cricket, table tennis and craft activities. Adventure Unlimited will also be there with young people completing the “Climbing Everest Challenge” and climbing wall.

At The Manor

Manor Road Gym1pm – 4pm Saturday 28 June – free!

A popular community event with something for all ages – street dance, martial arts, belly dancing, tai chi, tennis and lots more including the legendary manor raffle. Come along to this fantastic neighbourhood celebration of activities to do at The Manor.

Wild Park Youth Festival

Wild Park12pm – 5pm Sunday June 29 – free!

Back by popular demand, this event is aimed at young people aged 12+. Offering a range of activities to try such as football, dance, rock climbing, bush craft  and archery. This event is delivered by the Brighton and Hove Youth Collective and supported by the Active for Life Project.

In Hollingdean – ‘T in the Park’

Hollingdean Park11am – 3pm Sunday 29 June – free!

A family focussed event in Hollingdean. organised by the Trust for Developing Communities and the Active for Life Project. “T-in the Park” is a community picnic event with lots of activities for people to take part in including rounders, skating, and more!
