There is some uncertainty about the status of the Hippodrome planning application

The planning committee decided in July that it was minded to grant the application, subject to various matters of detail.

However, the Council then asked the Secretary of State whether he wished to call in the plans for decision by him rather than the local planning authority. It seems that this is a requirement for some types of application though it is not clear to me that the Hippodrome falls into this category (see http://tinyurl.com/k5omneu for the details).

Having received the request the Secretary of State has 21 days in which to decide whether to call in the application. However, he can give himself more time by issuing a holding direction and this is what he did on 28 July.

So at present the application is in limbo. I can’t find any information about how long the Secretary of State now has before he must decide whether to call in the plans.
