Brighton Art Fair

Brighton Art Fair has, for over ten years, been bringing 100 of the brightest and best contemporary visual artists from Sussex and around the country to exhibit at the Brighton Dome – Corn Exchange.

Brighton Art Fair is the largest annual art exhibition on the South Coast and enables artists across all media to sell their work to the public, building a relationship with buyers, potential buyers, galleries and curators. The fair selects the most talented painters, printmakers, photographers and sculptors along with artist groups and Sussex based galleries.

This year we’re featuring in the entrance lobby, photographer Alun Callender’s latest personal project – an extensive series of environmental portraits of East Sussex artists in their studios.

Brighton Art Fair is run by artist Sarah Young and organiser Jon Tutton. They also organise MADE BRIGHTON, MADE LONDON and the Palace Art Fair at Fulham Palace.

Around 5000 visitors visit Brighton Art Fair each year. Many of the visitors enjoy talking and buying directly from the artists themselves, learning more about their artwork, techniques and interests. Every visitor receives a catalogue detailing the exhibitors at the fair which we hope encourages buyers to contact artists after the event to buy or commission work and establish a longer term on-going relationship.

Sales of artwork have been healthy for exhibiting artists. BAF also directly targets art buyers, collectors, gallery owners, arts commissioners and exhibition curators and many artists have been taken up by galleries throughout England due to contacts made at the fair.

2006 saw the launch of the Brighton Craft Fair featuring the best makers and designers in the country. In 2008 Brighton Craft Fair became MADE BRIGHTON –  The Design and Craft Fair to reflect the cutting edge design skills of many of our present makers and to attract other designers. In 2012 MADE LONDON was launched and is now held in October at beautiful One Marylebone in NW1.
