Get started with finding out the hidden story of your house with this afternoon session led by our in-house researcher Andrew Lusted.

All houses have stories to tell and this introduction to house history will familiarise you with the tools available to find out more about your home and the people who lived in it.

the keep logoStarting with the more obvious sources in our archive, including building plans and maps, street directories and electoral rolls, rate books and census returns, Andrew Lusted will go on to show how more obscure material held at The Keep, such as newspaper reports, deeds, auction catalogues, wills and inventories, coroners’ reports and even criminal records may shed an intriguing new light on a building’s past.
