HOVE : Kingsway and West Hove Residents Association

Kingsway and West Hove Residents Association was formed to fight Portzed’s flawed application and to represent these objections to Brighton and Hove City Planning at Hove town hall. We started as a few concerned Kingsway residents but now have several hundred supporters.

WHAT WE HAVE DONE SO FAR

  • We have held a meeting at the church hall in Glebe Villas which attracted around 200 local people, the vast majority supporting us.
  • We also visited many homes in the area and now have a petition signed by 360 local people.
  • We have submitted many formal detailed objections from KAWHRA to the City Council on the basis of local peoples’ concerns
  • We have issued a press release about our objection
  • WE HAVE ESTABLISHED KAWHRA ON A FORMAL BASIS.
  • Following an exhibition in November 2011 we sent comments to the Shoreham Harbour Joint Action Plan team about the history and character of this area, in response to a character and public realm study of the harbour’s surroundings which they are carrying out.
  • We submitted comments on the City Plan Options Papers in December 2011, especially in relation to the possible redevelopment of Aldrington Basin.
  • We have established links with the Wish Parks Residents Association and the Western Esplanade Management Committee to co-ordinate working on matters of joint interest.
